Who doesn't love clean ..... Clean handle bars

Think almost everyone hates the wire and cable clutter around the handle bars.
But it is the easiest way, messy but easy.
So, next clean handle bars. (can buy em for a lot of money and miss the satisfaction of diy)
Wiring is not hard .... guitar string and thinner wires is all you need.
Throttle cable .... a bit more difficult.
Real prob is the clutch cable. Every angle you introduce gives a lot of extra resistance.
Try a straight clutch cable, then back on tyhe handle bar and you notice a big difference, so cable through handle bar like throttle cable is no option.
The solution is hydraulics .... hydraulics dont care about angles and bends.
But way harder to install.
So here we go, brake and clutch lines through the handle bars.

Just the standard steel brake line for cars and run it through ur bars.
I soldered the line in/on the original banjo bolt.

Make sure the length is sufficient to connect to the rest of the brake line. I used the original because it seemed to run nice behind the tubes.
(and they are black)

How it looks with wiring and brake line through the bars.

The hydraulic clutch is a different story altogether.
You can find them on ebay for more money than i want to spent. (married, 2 kids at uni ... )
Enter China :) With no shipping fees i got loads of materials there and in this case a Magura look alike clutch. Metric thread, so had to tap new thread. And a solution had to be found for the 7/8" control instead of the 1" of my handle bar.
Same principle. Run the brake line through the bar and connect to original line and banjo.

If you're wondering about the weird bolt sticking out of the bajo ..... air .... >_<

Meant to be used as sold and not to be taken apart. So in order to be able to fill it up from below, the other ways did not work, i had to replace the original bolt with one with a little tube and thread to fill from there and get rid of air. (works great btw)

So here it is ..... finished.
You can also see the engine support.

Ready for the first trail ... :D

Here the front view. On both sportster and FXR i use handles integrated turn signals, no more sticking out fugly flashers and wires.

Changed the clutch handle with a bigger one just to find out the diameter of the handle cylinder was much larger than the original. Resulting in too much travel and the force of a body builder to work it.
So reverted back to the original handle.
The connecting to the banjo, of course different types for both handles >_<, is soldered.
In order to keep the internal wiring from melting, i wrapped the brake line with a wet cloth where it enters the handle bar.
Now i can work the clutch with my pinky again but the control looks a bit cheap. Will find the right set of controls at some point.
